Mocha Pro & Blackmagic Fusion Compositing Series

Learn how to use Mocha Pro in Blackmagic Fusion with this 5 part video series.  Discover just how flexible Mocha Pro’s tracking data can be when paired with Blackmagic Fusion’s compositing workflow. 1. Use Mocha Pro Tracking in Fusion

In this short series, we create a composite to change the time of day to sunset, utilizing the same Mocha tracking data in several different ways. In the first part, we create the initial track in Mocha Pro and export the tracking data back to Fusion. We use that to start a corner pin sky replacement.

2. Use Mocha Shape Data as Fusion Masks

In the second part, we bring back the trees in our sky replacement, using Fusion’s luma key and Mocha Pro shape data.

3. Using Fusion Modifiers to track effects

In the third part, we track in a lens flare using Fusion modifiers and Mocha tracking data. This same technique can be used to link Mocha track data to almost any parameter in Fusion.

4. Art Direct Stabilization Data in Fusion

In the fourth part, we recycle the original tracking data one more time to stabilize the footage. We use Mocha Pro’s Stabilize module to customize the stabilization before taking it back to Fusion.

5. Fixing the composite and final grade

In the final part, we finish the composite by fixing the keying problems and creating a light wrap. We also tie the whole shot together with a simple color grade.
